I’m a beta tester for your SMART Alec product and was testing an external drive over USB when Smart Alec presented me with the following dialogue: "Drives connected by USB or FireWire cannot communicate their SMART status to macOS, so SMART Alec cannot fully check your disk....To check SMART on USB/FireWire drives, use the SMART over USB driver downloadable from smartalec.biz"
However, once I visited smartalec.biz the only option was to fill out the beta tester form again. I did so, assuming that this was a separate beta than the SMART Alec app, but apparently it is just the same form, as I only received a confirmation email and link to install the SMART Alec app, and no link to download the USB driver after all.
Can you please let me know where I can download the SMART over USB driver so that I may continue testing this product?
Currently the SMART USB drivers are only avaiable by using SoftRAID (you can use it in trial mode for 30 days).
We expect the SMART drivers to be available in SMART Alec in the couple of weeks.
